Group Aerobics

One area where LA Fitness excels over SAC is utilization of the group aerobics room. Although SAC had a nice group aerobics room, I almost never saw it being used, even during the prime weekday evening hours. Might this deficiency have been a contributing factor to membership attrition?

In stark contrast, LA Fitness has a pretty extensive group cardio class schedule that includes spinning/cycling, step aerobics, kick-boxing, aquatic aerobics (must take place in the pool?), Yoga, Pilates, club boxing, body works and total body (with dumbbells), and hip-hop (described as hi-energy dance combinations while getting a great workout -- some clubs have a latin variation of this).

Most of the classes are held in the early morning hours and afternoon/early evening peak time slots.

They have handouts of the aerobics classes at the kiosk behind the reception desk, and a current schedule is also posted on the Southlake club's website. Not sure how often it changes.
